Past Times 

I combine my passion for history with my love of shadow or silhouette puppets on my educational site Past Times.  The site includes free patterns and instructions to help children engage with history and ancient stories creatively. In addition to  shadow play, the puppets may be used for stop motion projects, displays, storytelling, social stories, and language arts.

 

Children’s books

I have published four picture books under my Dutch name “Heleen van Rossum,” three of them in 2003-06. The most recent one, De Beste Moeder van het Heelal (The Best Mom in the Universe), is the third illustrated by Peter van Harmelen (April 2018). One other book illustrated by Peter was published in English by Kane  as Miller Will You Carry Me? (2005).
