Past Times

 I combine my passion for history with my love of shadow or silhouette puppets on my educational site Past Times.  The site includes patterns and instructions to help children engage with history and stories from the past creatively.

In addition to shadow play, the puppets may be used for stop-motion projects, displays, storytelling, social history, and language arts.

Children’s books

I published four picture books under my Dutch name “Heleen van Rossum,” three of them in 2003-06, the last one in 2018, illustrated by Peter was published in English by Kane  as Miller Will You Carry Me? (2005).

More picture books are on the way, as well as a historical YA novel set in 1786-87 Amsterdam.
